The Grand Erie District School Board invites applications from interested, qualified Elementary Learning Resource teachers for the Camp SAIL Summer Learning Program (SLP) from Tuesday July 2 to Friday July 19. Please be advised that the successful candidates must have experience in the LRT role and be familiar and confident with instruction and assessment. The Camp SAIL Summer Learning Program places emphasis on late primary/early junior literacy and numeracy curriculum areas as the focus of instruction.Qualifications:

Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification (Primary/Junior)

Special Education qualifications

Experience working in the Learning Resource Teacher role

Classroom experience working in Primary or Junior classrooms. Experience in Grades 3, 4 or 5 is preferred but not required

Current knowledge of strategies for implementing effective instruction in mathematics and literacy

Understanding of differentiation of supports, so as to meet diverse learning needs

Experience working within a collaborative learning team

Experienced in the use of various forms of educational technology

Responsibilities include:

Supporting the implementation of effective literacy and/or numeracy instructional strategies

Supporting teachers in monitoring and reporting on student progress

Working collaboratively with other teachers across the district

Developing strategies to involve and communicate with families in meaningful ways

Responding to literacy and numeracy needs of students (grades 2-4)

Supporting instruction daily with students and other teachers between the hours of 8:30 am 3:30 pm

Attend training sessions to prepare for the Summer Learning Program in late June

Travelling between all site locations (Thompson Creek, River Heights, Agnes Hodge, Cobblestone)

Other duties as assigned The number of positions required will be dependent on the number of students who register for Camp SAIL 2024. Preference will be given to internal contract teachers. Interested candidates are invited to send a resume of experience, qualifications, a copy of their current Certificate of Qualification, practice teaching reports or the most recent performance review(s), their preferred grade and the names of three professional references, one of whom must be a current supervisor/principal.
