Invites applications for the position of: CUPE 1571 - Permanent Maintenance BAS Technician

Rate of Pay: $36.21 (starting hourly rate), $36.42 (hourly rate after probation)

Hours: 40 per week

Location: VariousPosition Summary:

Under the regular direction of the Maintenance Coordinator, the Maintenance BAS Technician is responsible for the maintenance, inspection and repair of Building Automation Systems at Board sites.

Major Responsibilities: Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator for their assigned area

Responsible for an established preventative maintenance routine for YCDSB building automation systems

Inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing of pneumatic and electronic (DDC) building service controls and associated equipment.

Programming of building automation systems

Repairing and installation of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems controls

On site in-servicing of caretakers

Responsible for the safe operation and safekeeping of tools supplied by the Board, safe operation and maintenance of company vehicle while in use

Maintain accurate records (e.g., vehicle maintenance, work orders, timesheets, etc.)

Perform other job related duties as assigned or required

The use of proper safety protective equipment is required at all timesQualifications and Experience: Minimum of five (5) years practical experience in Building Automation, DDC and pneumatic control systems

Must have a community college diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technician (Industrial)

Must have a valid Ontario Drivers G license. A drivers abstract will be requested upon hire.Skills and Competencies: Demonstrable knowledge of Building Automation Systems.

Demonstrate ability to write sequence of operations for heating and ventilating systems

Demonstrate ability to read and draw schematic drawings

Ability to function without close supervisionThe selection of the successful applicants(s) will be made in accordance with Article 12 of the C.U.P.E. 1571 collective agreement.
