SUPERVISORY PRINCIPAL for

Secondary School Summer Programs 2024Start Date: May 13, 2024

The Successful Candidate will have:

A desire and ability to foster a Catholic Learning Community, through leadership and collaboration;

Commitment to the York Catholic District School Boards Mission, Vision and Strategic Commitments and;

Demonstrated leadership qualities/abilities; and

Expertise in supporting students via online learning with a strong working knowledge of G-Suite, D2L, and online Video facilitation.

A commitment to attending meetings, conduct staffing and other administrative duties prior to the start of summer school programs

Be willing to work after school hoursRequired Qualifications/Professional Experience:

Ontario School Principal's Qualifications Parts I/II as per Ontario Regulation 176/10 (Teachers Qualifications) made under the Ontario College of Teachers' Act.

A minimum of one (1) year in the role of Principal.

Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team, motivate others, and build Catholic learning communities of faith.

Previous experience as a school admin in the Continuing ed program is considered an asset.

A strategic problem solver and systems thinker, able to handle complex problems, and manage stress effectively.

Knowledge of best practices in instructional strategies, assessment and evaluation and the improvement of student achievement in schools.

Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.

Part III of the Religious Education Course (equivalency or commitment to completion of same or another approved program (eg. The Catholic Leadership Program offered at St. Michaels University of Toronto)).

A participating member of a Catholic worshiping community as attested by your Parish priest via Pastoral Reference, dated by your Parish Priest within the last 12 months.

Special Education Part 1 Course or the Special Education for Administrators AQ Course;

Additional general criteria as outlined in Board Policy 405C: Appointments to Positions of Administrative Responsibility, located at www.ycdsb.ca. Preference will be given to candidates with:

Previous Secondary and/or Saturday/Summer/Night School experience;

Specialized training and strong working knowledge of G-Suite, D2L, online Video facilitation;

Strong humanitarian and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team, motivate others, and build Catholic Learning communities of faith;

A strategic problem solver and systems thinker able to appropriately address and resolve complex problems in stressful circumstances;

Expert knowledge of best practices in instructional strategies, student assessment and evaluation, and the improvement of student achievement in schools; and

Excellent communication, presentation and project management skills.Administrative assignments will be based on:

In person, virtual and e-learn student learning environments;

Student enrolment in in person, virtual and e-learning environments; and,

Consideration of system succession planning.
