Disability Management Generalist

Full-time position

Salary range: $61,324 - $69,687 The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board is seeking a full-time Disability Management Generalist. This position is accountable to the Manager of Human Resource Services and works closely with the Disability Management and Safety Coordinator within the Human Resources (HRS) Department. They support the facilitation of the Boards disability management programs, the WSIB program and the Health and Safety program. The Disability Management Coordinator is an integral member of the Human Resource Services team ensuring efficient and timely communication and processing of all attendance support programs.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

Support the facilitation of the Boards attendance support and disability management programs for both occupational (WSIB) and non-occupational illness and/or disabilities including assisting with follow-up, monitoring and tracking claims and costs, and preparing correspondence and documentation such as return to work and work accommodation plans.

Schedule and facilitate return-to-work meetings and conduct on-going monitoring of return-to-work plans.

Create and administer disability management files in Parklane.

Enter absences into absence tracking software and HRIS.

Administration of leave requiring medical documentation.

Administration of the Long-Term Disability process and completion of Plan AdministratorsStatement.

Support WSIB programs.

Support the Boards Health and Safety program by completing data entry of all accident/incident reports into Parklane, preparing monthly incident report summaries for the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), taking minutes of all JHSC meetings, monitoring and tracking the submission of monthly and annual Health and Safety inspection reports through e-BASE, and assisting in the preparation and distribution of all Health and Safety and Wellness correspondence and information.

Assign, track and organize health and safety related training such as JHSC Certification, First Aid and CPR training as required.

Generate and prepare reports related to disability management and health and safety, as required.

Support the grievance/arbitration process by developing disability management case summaries as required.

Update information in e-BASE, as required.

Other duties related to the administration of disability management and health and safety, as required.

Candidates must possess: A University degree or College diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources, or related field.

Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in Disability Management required.

Experience working in a unionized environment with various collective agreements considered an asset.

Working knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA), Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate expectations and decisions.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgement, tact, and discretion.

Team player with demonstrated customer service skills.

Proficient in using Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel) and possess the aptitude for learning additional industry-related software. Previous experience with Parklane is an asset.

Ability to remain flexible, work as part of a team as well as independently.
