COMPUTER SUPPORT TECHNICIAN I TEMPORARY FULL TIME (June 3, 2024 to September 27, 2024 - 40 hours/week) The Burnaby School District invites applications for a temporary full-time Computer Support Technician I position. The assignment ends on September 27, 2024. Reporting to the Manager of Client Services and working in a team environment, the Computer Support Technician I (CSTI) is responsible for the installation, support and maintenance of computer-based technologies at various school district locations. The CSTI provides field service for computer-based technologies, curricular, administrative and business, software as well as hardware. The CSTI works with a variety of school and district-based personnel to support and contribute to the quality learning and working environments within our District. Qualifications: Graduation from a recognized two-year IT-related technical program, including or supplemented by recent and relevant certifications, plus two years related experience. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and provide on-site user support in a large networked environment. Thorough knowledge of computer operations, software applications, and peripheral devices related to work performed, including business and curricular software, workstation operating systems, printers, and various other input and output devices. Valid B.C. Driver's Licence (Class 5). The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Work in an educational setting is an asset. This temporary position works 40 hours/week, and will be required to work flexible hours including before and after school hours, and weekends. The wage is $34.64 per hour ($35.68 effective July 1, 2024).
