Our students benefit from innovative teaching and learning approaches to address global challenges, and are empowered to take responsibility as open-minded, curious citizens who are prepared for the ever-changing world around them.Job Description: The youth support worker will provide social emotional support for students in the elementary division (grade 1 to 5) so they can fully participate in their school day, collaborate with classroom teachers in the implementation of various strategies and communicate with parents. Collaboration with other members of the Student Learning and Well-Being team is essential. This position is to begin as soon as possible and will end on June 27, 2024.Responsibilities: Supporting students: Support students to advocate for their learning needs.

Help students develop personalized strategies for social emotional needs.

Provide targeted or universal social-emotional support in different settings: individually, in small groups or in-class.

Maintain working files on students who require support.

Supporting faculty: Provide best-practice professional development for CFIS faculty with respect to strategies to support student learning.

Maintain regular communication with staff about effective learning strategies for students.

Supporting families: Consult with parents and provide ongoing communication.

Coordinate support meetings with students/families and external resources.

Qualifications :

Bachelor of Child Studies, Bachelor/Master or Psychology.

Bilingual (French and English).

Certified in Mental Health first aid preferred.

The successful candidate will need to provide an updated Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to commencing work. Skills, Technical and Behavioural Competencies Required:
