TRAVEL FOR CREDIT- GRADE 10 CIVICS and CAREERS (CHV2O AND GLC2O) Summer school relies on dynamic teachers who are committed to creating an engaging environment that helps students to develop and apply their skills in an exciting way.REPORTS TO: Summer School Coordinator

Commencing July 2, 2024, and ending July 23, 2024
The program will contain two components:
July 2 to July 12, 2024, and July 22 to July 23, 2024 will be asynchronous delivery of curriculum
July 14 to July 21, 2024 (inclusive of weekend), will be field trip supervision and travel to Ottawa, Montreal, and New YorkDuring the delivery of virtual programing, class content is to be uploaded by 8:30 a.m. Monday to Friday and teachers are expected to support students five hours each day inclusive of office hours. Virtual classes will be delivered asynchronously. During time of travel, teachers will be expected to supervise students for the duration of the trip and be compensated seven hours per day. REMUNERATION: $42.86 subject to increase (inclusive of vacation and statutory pay, and payment will be by timesheet).
LOCATION: Virtual using Brightspace and in-person field trip to Ottawa, Montreal, and New York
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This unique travel for credit opportunity will provide quality education for every student in a safe and caring learning environment. As a summer school travel for credit teacher, you will provide leadership and direct teacher support to students in a virtual class and experiential learning opportunity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide instruction based on curriculum and support to students
Assessment, evaluation, and reporting of student achievement
Field trip responsibilities associated with international travel as outlined in board procedure AP 5602-D Field Trips and Excursions Approval Process
Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: A teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of TeachersASSETS: Sound philosophy of education and strong working knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, Growing Success, Learning for All, and the School Effectiveness Framework
Experience using Office 365 and the Virtual Learning Environment, Brightspace
Strong communication and class management skills
An understanding of effective learning, teaching, and assessment strategies
Experience travelling and organizing school groups
Excellent leadership, and organizational skills JOB REQUIREMENTS: Eligible to work in Canada;
Clean vulnerable sector police check; and,
Valid travel passport/documents. ELIGIBILITY:
