extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment

knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment

Post-secondary coursework & successful experience in teaching students with social, emotional & behavioural needs

extensive academic training and post graduate coursework in the following areas: students with special needs; strategies for adapting and modifying curriculum

Ability to create cross-curricular learning opportunities for students across all subject matter

demonstrated willingness to participate as an integral member of the School Based Team

demonstrated success at working with and coordinating SEL programs with the CYCW

demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of young adolescent development and enthusiasm for working and fostering a positive relationship with students with multiple challenges in a trauma-informed manner

knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as outlined in the Manual of Policies, Procedures and Guidelines for Special Education Services

demonstrated ability to use strategies that enable students to self-regulate behaviors

demonstrated ability to Case Manage students including all Case Management roles & duties

knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the development, writing, implementation and evaluation of CB-IEPs in consultation with the classroom teacher(s), parent(s), student and district personnel

Demonstrated ability to plan individual and small-group learning experiences through an In-House Alternate Program

proven ability in designing, modifying and adapting the curriculum to meet the diverse individual needs of students

demonstrated ability to motivate and provide success for students who experience difficulties with learning and require additional support through student services

demonstrated excellence in the area of interpersonal skills, communication, and collaboration

demonstrated commitment to use technology for teaching and to communicate consistently and effectively with parents and students
