The CoordinatorFrench Curriculum Focus--will work directly with students and teachers throughout the school district, particularly in support of collaborative learning teams in our schools. The successful candidate will be competent in budgeting, resource allocation and grant writing for the District. The successful candidate will assist teams of teachers in their planning, instruction, and assessment by supporting reflective, collaborative practice using the curricular and core competencies. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the curriculum support team and support Department and District initiatives.

successful experience in a support role or leadership role as related to this assignment required

fluency in both written and oral French and English

successful experience prioritizing, allocating and managing multiple budgets for resource allocation

recent grant writing experience as it pertains to cultural and educational resources from the OLEP

demonstrated recent experience to organize and present to large audiences around professional learning (pro-d, conferences, staff meetings)

a minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in FSL or French Immersion including oral and written proficiency

Demonstrated experience with classroom teachers team teaching, modeling lessons and mentoring.

Masters Degree or Diploma in Curriculum or related area is preferred

demonstrated ability to link content, assessment practices and learning that aligns with curricular and core competencies in the FSL or Immersion classroom and provide leadership to classroom teachers in this work

evidence of exemplary assessment practices reflecting the integration of curricular competencies, core competencies and content.

demonstrated ability and experience in using sound lesson design and differentiation of instructional strategies

demonstrated ability and experience in using technology to support student and teacher learning

demonstrated willingness to support Department and District initiatives (ACT/SNAP/etc)

demonstrated ability to work collaboratively developing cross curricular resources and learning tools

demonstrated ability in assessment practices that reflect understanding of uses of assessment

demonstrated exemplary commitment to professional development

demonstrated willingness to team teach and model lessons in classrooms throughout the district

demonstrated ability in providing leadership, professional development and support services in balanced instructional and assessment practices at multiple grade levels

demonstrated knowledge of and experience in using the First Peoples Principles of Learning in lesson planning and design

demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and complete multiple tasks

demonstrated ability in working collaboratively with staff as part of a team
