Salary Range: $50,000 to $107,000 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)
Effective Date: September 1, 2024 to no later than June 30, 2026

The Curriculum Support Teacher Elementary/Middle School Math - will work directly with teachers and students throughout the school district. The scope of this work will include, but is not limited to, the implementation, interpretation, and impact of supporting a balanced approach to math instruction in the classroom. The successful applicant will be planning and delivering this support as coaching and co-teaching working closely with other members of the curriculum department team as well as school based teams of teachers.
extensive academic training, professional preparation and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment
knowledge of and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment
a minimum of 5 years of recent successful classroom teaching experience at the elementary and/or middle levels
demonstrated success as curriculum support teacher and mentoring other teachers
demonstrated success presenting workshops/professional learning sessions at school, district and provincial level
demonstrated ability to link content, assessment practices and learning that aligns with the know/do/understand curricular model
demonstrated ability and experience in assessing student learning and using assessment to drive practice
demonstrated use of SNAP to inform a balanced approach to math instruction (Know, Do, Understand)
demonstrated willingness to team teach in classrooms throughout the district
demonstrated understanding of competency-based instruction and assessment
demonstrated understanding of brain-friendly learning environments
demonstrated ability and experience in using sound lesson design and differentiating instructional strategies
demonstrated knowledge of numeracy and application of numeracy learning activities
demonstrated knowledge of and experience with District math initiatives
demonstrated knowledge of and experience in using the First Peoples Principles of Learning in lesson planning and design
demonstrated ability and experience in using technology to support student and teacher learning
demonstrated ability to participate as an effective member of a team and to provide service to others
demonstrated evidence of effective interpersonal skills
demonstrated ability to organize, plan and complete multiple tasks
demonstrated knowledge of and experience in meeting the goals of the Aboriginal Enhancement Agreement
