extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in all areas of this assignment

knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment

demonstrated ability to plan for and teach all required subjects at this grade level, to effectively address the academic and social/emotional learning needs of a diverse group of students

experience with differentiating instruction and utilizing methods for selecting and adapting instructional materials to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of a diverse group of students

knowledge of and proven experience in using current assessment practices to inform and guide instruction

demonstrated knowledge and proven success with effective classroom management

demonstrated knowledge, experience, and willingness to teach self-regulation strategies and mindfulness to support the social/emotional needs of the intermediate student with an understanding of a trauma informed practice; use of proven SEL/Self-Regulation approaches (Calm, Strong Kids, Mind Up) are preferred

knowledge and demonstrated ability in teaching a balanced literacy program utilizing sound teaching practices exemplified in SMART learning, the ACT, Reading/Writing Power and Write Traits

knowledge and demonstrated ability in teaching a balanced numeracy program, including the use of the districts S.N.A.P assessment

demonstrated ability to support school and district initiatives/goals to provide meaningful learning experiences for students including Project Based, STEM and/or Place Based Learning

knowledge and demonstrated experience with First Peoples Principles of

proven ability, commitment and willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and administration in order to support all students through an RTI system and a student-centered learning model

demonstrated ability using technology in instruction to enhance student engagement for a wide range of abilities

proven ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents
