We are seeking a skilled accounting professional to join our finance

team to provide leadership and vision for the provision

of financial and business services to internal and external

stakeholders. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager of Finance is

responsible for managing the Accounts Division of the Finance Department and

its systems, accounting and purchasing operations, and the internal audit

review program for the school district.Responsibilities

Assists the Director

of Finance and provides district

wide assistance with a variety

of duties such as: Financial and budget operations

Financial analysis and reporting including

year-end financial statements and audit working

papers

Financial Information management

Purchasing/ procurement/ Requests

for Proposals (RFPs)

Districts Charitable Organization status

AtrieveERP Financial Systems

Guidance for school and department managers regarding budget and expenditures compliance

Supervision of accounts

payable and accounts

receivable staff

Internal audit review process to monitor internal controls for district and school-based programs

Skills, Attributes, and Competencies Required

A professional accounting designation CPA (CMA, CGA, or CA), or nearing completion of a CPA designation

Five years of managerial experience including experience in a complex,

full-cycle accounting environment, preferably in Public Sector

or a BC school district

Related experience in purchasing, contract

administration, integrated general

ledger system

Payroll certification and or purchasing certification considered an asset

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office

Suite and database

computer program

Knowledge of policies

and procedures as they pertain

to finance, payroll,

risk management processes

Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of professionalism, tact, discretion and to maintain

confidentiality

Experience in planning

and implementing changes

in computerized financial systems

Ability to work independently, exercise

sound judgement, and show superior

investigative and analytical skills

Demonstrated ability to organize

and prioritize duties,

to handle high volume of work with changing deadlines

and constant interruptions

Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal
