Southpointe maintains their own fleet of school buses and is seeking a polite and friendly Transportation Coordinator to support the Transportation Manager with scheduling and maintaining the fleet. The Transportation Coordinator will additionally be expected to drive buses within BC and the Pacific NorthWest. Reporting to the Controller the Transportation Coordinator will commence as soon as possible.

Position Overview:

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the transportation department. Making sure that staff and students have safe and efficient transportation by ensuring that school acquired vehicles are maintained, routed and scheduled to maximise their effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities: Support the daily operations of the Transportation department;

Daily monitoring of operations to ensure work is performed efficiently; following appropriate regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines;

Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff and other community members;

Assist with training, including; road testing, safety programs and student management;

Collaborate with the Transportation Manager on investigations and escalate to the Transportation Manager any incident involving the buses or drivers where appropriate, including; student conduct, collisions, excessive speed etc;

Support the organization and scheduling of busses to meet the requirements of the school community;

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications: Current and valid Class 2 driving license or better with air;

Demonstrated ability to be self directed, productive and motivated to complete tasks and projects in a timely manner;

Experience of maintaining positive relationships with school stakeholders;

Demonstrated safety record and knowledge of safe procedures;

Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs;

Basic skills with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) and Google gmail, calendar, documents, etc.

Knowledge of safe work practices.

Salary and Benefits: Annual salary $55,000-60,000 depending on experience
