Application Deadline: 4:00 P.M., FRIDAY, MAY 3, 2024 SUMMARY: Reporting to and under the direction of the Health and Safety Officer, this position provides a wide variety of clerical and administrative services to support the District Occupational Health and Safety Program and the District Wellness Program.QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12.
At least three years of recent and related experience working in the field of Occupational Health and Safety, including experience as an active member of either a district or site occupational health and safety committee. Completion of training including Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee Meetings, Incident Investigations, OH&S Regulations, and Workplace Hazards and Controls.
Good working knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act, Guidelines and Regulations and requirements. Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Takes initiative to improve current occupational health and safety procedures and processes.
Works well with teams and has the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook. Knowledge of WorkSafe BC and WHMIS regulations. Safe work practices.
