Spare School Bus Drivers

Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) owns and operates its own fleet of 140 regular school buses plus one 21-passenger bus, one 33-passenger bus, and three 17-passenger buses which are equipped for extracurricular trips. More than 4,000 students are transported daily to 22 schools. PWPSD manages one of the largest transportation systems in the province of Alberta. Each day, approximately 100 school bus drivers travel more than 14,225 kilometres in a total service area of 16,159 square kilometres.

PWPSD is now accepting applications for dedicated and safety-minded Spare School Bus Drivers .

Spare School Bus Drivers provide relief coverage when regular route drivers are unavailable and are responsible for safely transporting students to and from school. Additional responsibilities include performing pre/post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure optimal vehicle safety.

Successful applicants will be provided with a training time allowance and reimbursement of approved expenses pertaining to licensing, driver's medical and Criminal Records/Vulnerable Sector Check.

Qualifications: must be comfortable with navigation as calls will cover various routes

must be committed to safety and customer service
