Grande Prairie Public School Division provides a high-quality educational experience to over 8900 students. Charles Spencer High School serves approximately 1050 students from grade 9 through to grade 12.
The Library Technician provides services in the operation of the school library. The position also provides accurate on-line cataloguing and processing of library resources and materials. The successful candidate requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team member in an environment with frequent interruptions. Must also adapt with flexibility, creativity and have a strong sense of responsibility in job duties and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications: Two-year diploma in Library Technology with a minimum of one-year relevant experience preferred
knowledge of computer technology (Windows, Internet, Microsoft Office)
knowledge of Maker Space technology, or other learning commons technology
both oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of people in a team environment are essential
effective organization skills
able to work independently
time management skills
able to show initiative as well as take direction
