Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.

We invite application for a Temporary Full-Time Indigenous Education Services Coordinator for the 2024-2025 school year. Location: Itinerant throughout the Division

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate to lead the Indigenous Education Services Team in improving Indigenous student experience, fostering learning opportunities for all students, and collaborating with staff in a leadership capacity. PWPSD is looking for an individual with the skills, knowledge and understanding to supervise the Indigenous Education Services Team, and provide support to administrators, educators and support staff.

The successful candidates will require the ability to supervise a team, manage a budget, facilitate meetings, lead presentations and build resources. A Masters Degree in a related field is required. Experience working with Indigenous communities and within a school system is an asset. Candidates with an understanding of the Teacher and Leadership Quality Standards as well as the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action are encouraged to apply.

Salary range for this position is $65,605.80 to $84,124.44 annually, commensurate with education and experience. The salary is based on 1,435 hours of work per school year and is paid over 12 months. It will be prorated accordingly for assignments that start/end mid-school year. Applicants with lesser qualifications may be considered at an alternate classification.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7 hrs/day for a total of 1,435 hours per school year (working schedule for this position roughly follows the school year calendar).
