HWDSB is an anglophone school board that offers two French programs. Our Core French program begins in Grade 4, with approximately 40 minutes of instruction per class per day. Our French Immersion program begins in Grade 1, with students receiving a minimum of approximately 85 per cent of instruction in French. In French Immersion, Core English instruction begins in Grade 2.Our FI program continues into secondary at 2 sites, we offer a wide range of courses including Math, Science, Geography and History. The FI program at HWDSB is a growing program with sites across the district.

HWDSB est un conseil scolaire anglophone qui offre deux programmes de franais langue seconde. Notre programme de franais-cadre (de base) commence en quatrime anne, avec des classes denviron 40 minutes par jour. Notre programme dimmersion franaise commence en premire anne, avec un minimum denviron 85% de lenseignement en franais. En immersion, lenseignement de langlais commence en deuxime anne. Le programme dimmersion continue dans deux de nos coles secondaires o sont offerts des cours divers qui comprennent entre autres, les mathmatiques, les sciences, la gographie et lhistoire. Le programme dimmersion franaise du HWDSB est un programme en pleine croissance. Il est offert dans des coles disperses dans notre district.

Les candidats doivent tre qualifis par lOrdre des enseignantes et des enseignants de lOntario. Les nouveaux diplms en attente de leur certificat de lOrdre sont aussi invits soumettre leur application. Le cours de franais langue seconde, partie 1 (AQ), ou son quivalent, ainsi qu'une bonne matrise du franais et de langlais sont galement requis.

located on ancestral Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee Confederacy land as

determined by the Dish with One Spoon treaty. The Dish with One Spoon

wampum belt represents the treaty relationship between the Haudenosaunee

Confederacy and Anishinaabe with respect to sharing the land and
