High Prairie School Division is inviting applicants for: Teacher at Prairie River Jr High School 2024 - 2025 School Year This is a position for the 2024-2025 School Year teaching Physical Education with the possibility of extention.The actual assignment may be adjusted to reflect the specific skills of the successful candidate. Prairie River Junior High School is located in the town of High Prairie in northern Alberta within Big Lakes County. It is located at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 749, approximately 371 kilometres northwest of Edmonton and 118 kilometres west of Slave Lake. In addition to academic programming, PRJHS boasts an exceptionally strong student athletics program including basketball, golf, volleyball, track and field, badminton, cross-country running and archery. We continue to maintain a tradition of excellence for student achievement at various levels of competition. The school further offers a full arts program including fine arts, performing arts, and industrial arts as well as a variety of option courses. We are a Restorative Practices School that seeks to support students and staff as we build the skills to repair relationships that have been harmed by serious conflict and unaddressed issues. Requirements: Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Education Degree Must have (or be eligible to obtain) an Alberta Teaching Certificate or proof of application from Alberta Education. TQS or proof of application from the Alberta Teachers Association.
