VACANCY OECTA- 7782 Position: Indigenous Education Consultant Location: Kemptville Board Office Salary: As per Collective Agreement FTE: 1.0 Effective: September 3, 2024 June 27, 2025 Expertise: Catholic Curriculum with particular emphasis on Literacy/Numeracy and Indigenous Education K to 12. Summary: Under the supervision of the Superintendent of School Effectiveness, the consultant will: Promote and support Indigenous Education; Develop proposals and coordinate activities to enhance Indigenous Education in CDSBEO schools; Travel to various CDSBEO schools to support various student programs; Liaise with various CDSBEO Departments, (Student Success, Special Education, Curriculum, Religious and Family Life Education and Equity and Inclusion, and Continuing Education Departments) on various initiatives; Act as the Board's liaison with several community partners, the Ministry of Education, and other government agencies; Provide job-embedded professional development support for teachers in the areas of literacy, numeracy, assessment and evaluation, learning strategies and other subject-specific topics; Assist with the delivery of professional development programs within the Curriculum Department's mandate; Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:Valid Ontario College of Teachers CertificateQualifications in Primary or Junior and Intermediate or Senior Divisions Religious Education Part 1 is recommended Experience teaching in both elementary and secondary school would be considered an asset Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, instructional leadership, and organizational and time management skills Knowledge of current Ministry initiatives on Indigenous Education Extensive knowledge of instructional assessment, evaluation and reporting practices in alignment with the Institute for Catholic Education and the Ontario Ministry of Education, and Board directives Demonstrated effective leadership and experience in working with board and school teams and expertise in the planning and delivery of teacher professional development.
