KCDSB invites applications for Summer Student Daytime Custodians in Kenora to commence employment effective June 24th, 2024, until August 23rd, 2024. Guaranteed 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Locations are determined by the Custodial Department and are subject to change based on the need.Schedule: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM with half hour lunch

Position Duties and Responsibilities: Duties are performed under the supervision of Operations Manager- Custodial or designate

Clean by dusting, mopping, washing, vacuuming, polishing, brushing, disinfecting, and/or scrubbing all surfaces of furniture, equipment, floors, walls, glass, and other surfaces

Clean and maintain washrooms

Maintain waxed and synthetic floor coverings

Operate necessary hand and power tools required in effective performance of duties

Grass cutting

Clean windows, both inside and outside

Clean light fixtures, replace bulbs and tubes as required

Collect and dispose of waste as required

Move furniture as required

Follow proper work procedures

Cooperate in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment

Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor or designate Qualifications: Must be enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution currently or for the fall semester, or have graduated within 6 months by your first date of employment

Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff

Meets the physical requirements of the position including ability to life objects up to 50lbs, carry objects up to 30lbs

Ability to stand/walk and sustain repeated twisting, bending, stooping and squatting posture

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, organizational, leadership and consultation skills

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team The following would be considered an asset: Previous custodial and deep clean experience
