Medicine Hat Public School Division Student Advisor Medicine Hat High School A full-time Teacher is required at Medicine Hat High School to serve as a Student Advisor (Academic Counsellor). This position is to begin for the 2024-2025 school year. Applicants must provide career and/or vocational counselling services, including the administration of tests and inventories to help students identify their interests, aptitudes and abilities. In addition, our Student Advisors are responsible for presenting information sessions on subjects related to education and career planning and help students improve their study habits. The successful candidate must be able to assist students who are experiencing personal, social, or behavioural problems. Applicants must also act as a resource for teachers and faculty members involved in helping students. The advisor will work closely with a variety of other professionals including administrators, teachers, school psychologists, and social workers. A master's degree or training in educational counselling is an asset.The successful candidate must be in agreement with the mission, vision, values and goals of the school and the school district.Medicine Hat High School has a total student population of approximately 1200 students and is located in the Southwest Hill area.
