Capital and Facilities Renewal Project Officer

Position Type: 2 Year Contract effective Immediately.

Salary Range - $69,553 - $86,796

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager of Capital and Facilities Renewal Projects, the Project Officer well be responsible to provide support to the Manager as well as responsible for the planning coordination and management of various capital and facilities renewal interior and exterior projects/programs such as renovations and upgrades, in alignment with the Boards strategic directions and priorities.

Duties include, but not limited to: Provide project support to the Manager of Capital and Facilities Renewal as required by preparing various project documentation including Request for Proposals and Tender documents, schedules, budget logs and developing status reports.

Act as the Board representative throughout all stages of capital and facilities renewal projects with all stakeholders.

Assist in processing of change orders, invoicing, etc.

Attend project meetings documenting action items and key decisions.

Manage renovation projects from inception to occupancy, including creating and managing the scope, schedule, and budget.

Provide onsite supervision of contractors and ensure co-ordination with other departmental activities during all stages of the execution of projects.

Conduct on-site condition assessment and prepare reports for the manager with regards to School Condition Index and School Renewal projects.

Other duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Post-secondary education in related field (Architecture, Building Sciences, Project Management)

Minimum three years of progressive experience in construction and/or project management

Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn and contribute.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with a range of current software programs (eg. eBase, AutoCAD, etc.)

Experience with municipal approval processes, consultant/construction contracts and tendering procedures within the BPS Guidelines, relevant government regulations and Ontario Building Code knowledge
