Hours of Work: 6 hours per day Duties: In addition to those duties outlined in the job description, duties include supporting students with diverse needs and/or high behavioural needs. Without restricting the generality of the purpose above, the Educational Assistant II shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to the following: The Educational Assistant II will be required to complete specific and ongoing on the job training and will be required to support and handle the service dog of the student.

Selection of the applicant will be in accordance with CUPE Agreement 9.02c) and may not be the most senior applicant.

Position classified as EAII due to extensive and specific on the job training requirements not able to be achieved through typical education/certification.Education & Qualifications: A minimum of Grade 12 diploma from a recognized educational institution as approved by the Board of Education or General Educational Development (GED)

A minimum of one (1) year post-secondary training related to student needs such as Educational Assistant, Early Childhood Development, Youth Worker or Rehabilitation Worker (such training must be from a recognized educational institution as approved by the Employer)

NVCI and TLR training if required

A minimum of two (2) years experience in providing direct personal care

A valid Class 5 drivers license Physical Requirements: The ability to do heavy work is required in some assignments (i.e., exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to lift students and/or move objects).Wage & Benefits: In accordance with the current CUPE Local 5512 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
