Human Resources Administrator Employee Health and Wellness

(Full-time permanent)

North Bay Head Office

Effective Immediately Reporting to the Manger Human Resources the HR Administrator Employee Health and Wellness is responsible for managing short- and long-term disability claims from intake to payment as well as managing WSIB claims including fulfilling all employer required reporting obligations of NNDSB. The HR Administrator Employee Health and Wellness also coordinates the return-to-work process including arranging for work accommodations or transitions to long term disability where applicable.

Primary Responsibilities: Ensure that Disability Claims are effectively and compassionately managed.

Ensure that claimants are effectively managed within appropriate Disability Programs.

Monitor disability claimants progress and arrange for Return to Work.

Ensure that Work Accommodation programs are in place to manage effective transitions and reintegration with the workforce for disability claimants.

Track and report on disability costs.

Develop policies and procedures for Disability Management.

Coordinate and liaise with regional partners, public sector and other school boards for best practices.

Setting up and managing new and recurrent short, long tern and WSIB disability clams.

Interpret contractual conditions and disability program requirements to ensure individuals are managed appropriately through their disability period.

Maintain records and computer-based tracking of absences, costs, and outcomes.

Track the costs and benefits of the Boards disability management programs.

Ensure required system entries / documentation is completed.

Make decisions on claims using contractual, WSIB, legislative, medical, functional, and vocational analysis.

Provide all necessary verbal or written communications regrading disability processes or decisions to Board members and external agencies including the medical community.

Maintain productive relationships with internal team members and external stakeholders to maintain service level objectives.

Advocate for employee health initiatives.

Coordinate the Employee Assistance Program.Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other relevant post-secondary education (minimum 4 years).

2-3 years experience in a progressive Human Resources environment.

Experience working in a school board or public sector environment is an asset.

Previous experience with Short-term, Long-term and WSIB disability case management.

Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

Customer/Client Service experience.Required Skills: Case Management skills with the ability to plan, develop and implement goal-oriented claim management plans.

Knowledge of medical terminology and medical management.

Ability to apply appropriate disability management tools and techniques.

Solid computer skills including data entry.

Problem solving and decision-making skills.

Analytical skills with focused attention to case management

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively deliver difficult messages to claimants.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Responsive, and accessible to school administrators

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all stakeholders.

Has the ability to manage stress. Remains positive and motivational regardless of stressful situations.

Holds self and others accountable.
