Alcuin College invites applications from creative, innovative and qualified science (Biology, Chemistry) teachers. Candidates should have a sound knowledge and understanding of the BC curriculum and a concept-based, inquiry approach to teaching and learning, the ability to provide a rich and varied, experiential learning programme to students, as well as an openness to collaborate with colleagues. Experience teaching AP Biology and Chemistry or middle school mathematics is an asset. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Developing a learning environment that promotes communication and collaboration, builds positive relationships, fosters an ethic of care and values the contributions of all learners;

Designing and implementing engaging, student-centered learning opportunities that support inquiry and encourage creativity and innovation;

Differentiating learning opportunities and assessment practices to meet the needs of individual learners;

Monitoring student learning through a variety of assessment tools and strategies

Communicating positively and proactively with parents;

Participating in collaborative professional development and school-wide functions;
