VINTA POSTING2024-2025Job Posting #15AApplications are invited from teachers with BC Certification for the following teaching position: Cheslakees Elementary School, Port McNeill, BC 0.55 FTE Temporary - Library, LART and Kindergarten Classroom Commencing: SEPTEMBER 1, 2024 until June 30, 2025 or return of the incumbent, whichever comes first The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: primary teaching experience; ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies;a degree or diploma in Inclusive Education with coursework in diagnosis and remediation of reading and math difficulties, behavior intervention, and Level B testing;academic training, qualifications, and recent successful experience as a teacher librarian;strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills to communicate with students, staff, and parents in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning;experience developing and implementing student individual education plans and providing programming for students with low incidence designations;strong formative assessment practices; ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning; experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems; and ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $62,493 to $109,240, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The Remote Recruitment and Retention allowance is available for SD85 teachers payable at $2,947 over ten months.
