LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY Temporary Early Childhood Educator Supervisor __________________________________________________________________________ School District No. 52 (Prince Rupert) is seeking an exceptional leader for the temporary position of Early Childhood Educator Supervisor Summer Program, effective July 2 to August 16, 2024, or a mutually agreeable date. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT School District No. 52 (Prince Rupert) is located within traditional Ts'msyen Territory on the beautiful north coast of B.C. and services the small communities of Hartley Bay and Port Edward in addition to the City of Prince Rupert. We are excited to work with a professional who values and is committed to early childhood education and who will help us to provide fun and engaging summer care for families in our community THE POSITION Reporting to the District Vice Principal of Early Learning and Childcare, the Early Childhood Educator Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school district's summer childcare program at Conrad Elementary School Seamless Day Kindergarten. THE CANDIDATE Specific Responsibilities Follow the established Early Learning framework. Ensure the supervision and safety of the children in the program. Foster the children's curiosity and facilitating activities based on their interests and needs. Build positive relationships with the children and families. Maintain a clean and organized environment. Informs students and parents/guardians of events using bulletin boards, newsletters, posters, etc. Ensure child to staff ratios are met. Supervise staff and manage conflicts. Provide support to staff. Provide training in Emergency care and procedures to staff. Staff scheduling: including subs are available. Follow licensing guidelines. Plan developmentally appropriate activities. Snack prep and planning. Clear communication with families/children and staff. Ensure childcare space is kept sanitary and implement a cleaning schedule. 6. Reporting Relationships Reports to: District Vice Principal of Early Learning and Childcare Co-ordinates with: District Principal of Inclusive Education, District Principal of Indigenous Education Key Relationships: School district personnel, parents/guardiansQualifications ECE certification preferred or grade 12 and deemed a Responsible Adult. 5 years' experience working with children. 2 years supervisory experience Valid Childsafe first aid certificate.
