(Casual Non-Union Support Staff)

Temporary assignment from April 1 to June 21, 2024 with possibility of extension

Unqualified rate of pay - $27.15/hour for 6.5 hours per day

Qualified rate of pay $36.18/hour for 6.5 hours per day

DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Elementary School Principal, Support classroom teachers by providing tutorial assistance to First Nation students

Tutor students on a one to one or small group basis

Communicate with staff

Assist with the orientation of new students

Liaise with the Student Services team and Education Counselors.

Promote a positive attitude towards learning

Offer support with student supervision QUALIFICATIONS Ontario Secondary School Diploma

One (1) year experience working with First Nation students, parents and community is preferred

Knowledge and understanding of First Nation culture, heritage, values and history

Awareness of barriers faced by First Nations students and strategies to address barriers

Good verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Applicants must include the name of three professional references and authorization for the Keewatin Patricia District School Board to contact the references under the terms of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
