Posting Overview :

Reporting to the Supervisor of Technical Services, the Network and Telephony Administrator will provide system-wide technical support and day-to-day operations of districts phone systems, wide and local area networks, and core system servers.

Qualifications/Experience :

three-year diploma in Computer Studies, or a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Studies; equivalent extensive relevant experience will be considered;

at least four years of experience in telephony and network support.

Other Key Skills & Knowledge :

strong working knowledge of Microsoft Teams Calling infrastructure and cloud PBXs;

strong working knowledge of Session Border Controller, DID routing, and auto attendant configurations;

support and maintain all aspects of the VOIP system;

support and monitor daily operation of servers that support the phone systems and voicemail;

conduct traffic and call analysis and recommend capacity changes based on that analysis;

keep accurate records of VOIP system configurations and all telephone lines;

support legacy Board PBX systems;

working knowledge of termination blocks and colour coding for phone system wiring;

working knowledge of PA integration with a PBX;

support and configuration of network switching and vlans;

support and monitor both data centers and the daily operation of servers;

support and maintain wireless infrastructure;

maintain network documentation and diagrams;

support and verify billings for all district phone lines;

all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Technical Services.

Position Effective Date & Length :

This position is located at the Chatham Regional Education Centre.

Permanent CUPE 12, 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day

Level 6 - $31.27 - $33.15
