SUPPORTS NEEDED Perform the regular duties of the Classroom Teacher who you are filling in for

Follow established yearly overviews, unit plans, and day plans

Support the student-centered learning program in place which enhances the explicit programs our school delivers

Integrate students with disabilities and challenges in a positive and respectful manner

Supervision duties to include classroom supervision, field trips, & recess/lunch supervision

Implement positive discipline when required in accordance with the School Handbook, which includes Conflict Resolution and Restorative Justice

Ensure children have a safe and secure learning environment

Attend Language and Culture classes daily with students to ensure classroom management and to learn language alongside with students. This includes local outings which may include hiking

In case of extended teacher absence, collaborate to complete student report cards and interim reports using school-wide format

Classroom supervision and management and supervise field trips and other supervision duties as required

Ensure children have a safe and secure environment

Perform other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS

Education Bachelor of Education, or equivalent

Valid BC teaching certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch or in the process of obtaining

Current First Aid/CPR certificate or willing to obtain Preference may be given to those having knowledge of the Okanagan culture and traditions
