ROBOTICS/TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION TEACHER

Part-time (0.375 FTE) Term position

Academy West Vancouver Secondary School

Effective September 3, 2024 until June 30, 2025The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $50,000 to $104,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE. Required Qualifications and Experience

A part-time Robotics/Technology Education position is available. The successful candidate must demonstrate the following: Knowledge in the area of technology and ability to integrate technology into the curriculum

Experience programming robots using blocks, C/C++ and Python

Knowledge and experience in VEX IQ robot system

Knowledge and experience in VEX EDR robot system

Experience in coaching and managing a competitive environment involving a variety of team dynamics

Possess excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents

Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability, commitment and drive to work cooperatively and effectively with other educators in a collegial team setting;

An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners;

A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills;

Hold a valid teaching certificate and be a member in good standing with the Teachers Regulation Branch;
