Part-time (0.66 FTE) Term position

West Bay IB World School*

Effective September 3, 2024 until June 30, 2025

The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $50,000 to $104,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE. Required Qualifications and Experience A part-time teaching position is available at West Bay World IB School, teaching Physical and Health Education to a variety of classes each day from Kindergarten to Grade 7.The successful applicant will:

have an excellent understanding, and recent successful experience, teaching Physical and Health Education;

have the disposition and possess the skills to engage students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 in physical activity to develop physical literacy skills and inspire interest in activity and sports;

be familiar with a Universal Design for Learning approach so that all students are engaged and successful;

be familiar with the BC Curriculum, including the Core Competencies and the Know, Understand, Do elements of the curriculum;

possess exceptional interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability, commitment and drive to work cooperatively and effectively with other educators in a collegial team setting;

possess a clear understanding of the developmental stages of elementary-aged students and an ability to develop a dynamic, positive learning environment addressing the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of this age group;

have demonstrated understanding of or willingness to learn and implement the philosophy of the IB PYP in lesson planning, delivery, and assessment;

possess competent teaching methods to inspire learning with both primary and intermediate-aged students;

have a solid understanding and proven experience implementing self-regulation strategies to support all learners;

be familiar with, and have an interest in supporting the goals outlined in the West Vancouver Indigenous Enhancement Agreement.
