Position: Metalwork and Power Technology
Start Date: August 20, 2024
End Date: January 17, 2025QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience: Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
Training and experience in metalwork, machining, mechanics, small engine and/or welding;
Teaching experience in metalwork or mechanics
Current certification and familiarity with shop safety
Previous work experience in trades/apprenticeship would be an asset;
Journey person certification in welding or small engine technician would be an asset; DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:
Candidates should have and may be assessed on their: Ability to include and support Educational Assistants in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for students with Special Education needs;
Ability to work collaboratively, and communicate effectively, with students, parents, consultants, and staff to plan and implement ADST projects with students;
Knowledge of and sensitivity to the culture and aspirations of Yukon First Nation students and a culturally-diverse student population; ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: To be a Teacher in Yukon, you must hold a Teacher Certification in another Canadian province/territory first;
Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
