The Recruitment Officer position is responsible for in compliance with Board policies and procedures, collective agreements and legislative requirements, responsible for the leading practices and objectives of the Boards recruitment and selection of teaching and support staff, including coordination, supervision, consultation and monitoring.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: To collaborate and support execution of business unit strategies and plans, implement Human Resources strategies and solutions that support the short and long-term business objectives of the Board. To fairly and equitably recruit and select staff including the investigation and review of educational qualifications and employee personnel files, employee contract negotiation and preparation, and monitoring term and temporary employee contracts and conditions of employment. To consult with Superintendents and advise hiring managers on recruitment processes while ensuring compliance of governing agency regulations, legislation, system and contractual obligations and expectations. To advise employees on the Board recruitment and selections process, staff allocation and redeployment procedures, including selection process feedback, career counseling and development. To support hiring manager in executing change such as redeployment, staffing allocations, return to work accommodations and attrition. To create, facilitate and deliver training and professional development for system administrators and managers on selection, recruitment and retention processes. To develop and facilitate new employee sign-up and orientation programs, including interview and resume writing workshops. To review, monitor and refine recruitment and selection processes based on industry trends, succession plans, evaluate and implement new technology and training to ensure the organizations needs are continually met. To lead, attend and participate in meetings and/or committees as requested. To perform other duties as assigned.

LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Reports to the Manager, Recruitment & Retention.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: A three-year university degree or college diploma in human resources management or a related discipline, or equivalent, as approved by the Board, is required. Minimum five years in human resources management or related experience is required. Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal and computer skills are required. Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and groups both within and outside the Board is required. Immunization Disclosure Protocol:
