We are looking for an Assistant Buyer – Tea to join our team!

The Assistant Buyer – Tea provides administrative, organizational, and analytical support to our Tea Merchandising tea and supports the Merchants throughout the full product development and buying cycle.

Responsibilities

·         Create and place purchase orders for all Loose Leaf Tea and Tea Sachet products according to current price list and agreements and ensuring proper sign-off

·         Coordinate with the Kit and Assembly & Packaging  teams for order quantities, revisions and production schedule ensuring proper stock of tea is available for all projects

·         Coordinate with co-packers to ensure all components are delivered on time and finished product meets launch dates

·         SKU creation of all tea related products in AX and ensure proper launch execution

·         Support the front-end of the product creation cycle through product ideation support, assisting with brief creation and coordination of product development;

·         In charge of entering markdowns/promotions in the system, updating buyer's line sheet, and coordinating photo samples;

·         Follow up with vendors on purchase orders and samples;

·         Assist the Merchant in assortment building

·         Assist the Merchant with in-season management;

·         Develop expertise in the category by performing sales analysis;

·         Maintain the seasonal Visual Boards, Product Launch Sheet, Special Groups, etc.;

·         Point of contact for internal communication documents such Action Sheets, PKs, promo requests, price changes, etc.; in regards to new launches, promotions and consolidations

·         Act as liaison with other departments, including Planning, Allocation, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Communications, IT and Store Operations, to achieve joint business goals;

·         Work on special projects as assigned.

·         Coordinate with IT & Finance to ensure accurate inventory

·         Manage component lists for all sachets and tea co-packed items and coordinate orders

Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in business or related  field;

·         Experience in a similar position within retail industry an asset;

·         Sharp analytical and negotiation skills;

Responsibilities

·         Provide effective leadership in order to maximize sales and profit, through effective buying assortments, inventory management and product development;

·         Develop, organize, and implement buying strategies and reflecting these strategies in a realistic budget;

The Buyer Gift & Prepack provides creative, analytical, organizational support to the Lead Merchant, while helping to oversee day to day operations of the Assistant Merchant.  While the Lead Merchant retains responsibility over the merchandise category, this individual also has OTB authority over a subcategory of the business. The Buyer is heavily involved in all category product development, sourcing, and buying processes, as well as pre/in/post-season product management.
