About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Buyer – Tea to join our team!

The Assistant Buyer – Tea provides administrative, organizational, and analytical support to our Tea Merchandising tea and supports the Merchants throughout the full product development and buying cycle.

Responsibilities

·         Create and place purchase orders for all Loose Leaf Tea and Tea Sachet products according to current price list and agreements and ensuring proper sign-off

·         Coordinate with the Kit and Assembly & Packaging  teams for order quantities, revisions and production schedule ensuring proper stock of tea is available for all projects

·         Coordinate with co-packers to ensure all components are delivered on time and finished product meets launch dates

·         SKU creation of all tea related products in AX and ensure proper launch execution

·         Support the front-end of the product creation cycle through product ideation support, assisting with brief creation and coordination of product development;

·         In charge of entering markdowns/promotions in the system, updating buyer's line sheet, and coordinating photo samples;

·         Follow up with vendors on purchase orders and samples;

·         Assist the Merchant in assortment building

·         Assist the Merchant with in-season management;

·         Develop expertise in the category by performing sales analysis;

·         Maintain the seasonal Visual Boards, Product Launch Sheet, Special Groups, etc.;

·         Point of contact for internal communication documents such Action Sheets, PKs, promo requests, price changes, etc.; in regards to new launches, promotions and consolidations

·         Act as liaison with other departments, including Planning, Allocation, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Communications, IT and Store Operations, to achieve joint business goals;

·         Work on special projects as assigned.

·         Coordinate with IT & Finance to ensure accurate inventory

·         Manage component lists for all sachets and tea co-packed items and coordinate orders

Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in business or related  field;

·         Experience in a similar position within retail industry an asset;

·         Sharp analytical and negotiation skills;

·         Excellent knowledge of Excel with Pivot tables, formulas and V-lookup functions;

·         Bilingual (English & French);

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

·         Strong multitasker, able to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines;

·         Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment;

·         Proactive problem-solver;

·         Team player willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.

We are looking for an organized and analytical Buyer to plan, coordinate and execute all buying activities in order to achieve an increasingly profitable growth in the market share. The Senior Buyer – Hard Goods also supports in the development, selection, order follow-up and inventory flow through.

Responsibilities

·         Provide effective leadership in order to maximize sales and profit, through effective buying assortments, inventory management and product development;

·         Develop, organize, and implement buying strategies and reflecting these strategies in a realistic budget;

·         Foster sound and ethical relationships with suppliers and establish clear communication lines;

·         Source new suppliers to ensure best prices and product innovation; 

·         Forecast and achieve budgeted sales, gross margin, and turnover rate in given product category;

·         Ensure optimum pricing in order to achieve financial thresholds;

·         Ensure the effectiveness of the marketing program by providing input to the Marketing department;

·         Work in partnership with the visual merchandising team to ensure the product is displayed to reflect the strategic vision and maximize sales;

·         Ensure product knowledge is provided to the store and web teams;

·         Analyze weekly sales reports;

·         Ensure the completion of all orders in given product category.

Requirements

·         7-10 years of  procurement experience in retail;

·         Hard Goods/Accessories sourcing and purchasing experience

·         Experience in product development

·         Direct Sourcing Expertise

·         Creative

·         Number driven & analytical

·         Bilingual (English/French);

·         Strong leadership and mentorship abilities;

·         Strong negotiation skills

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

·         Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;

·         Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities;

·         Excellent interpersonal skills;

·         Great team player;

·         Available to travel overseas several times per year.
